No savegames after launching a game outside Steam.

Well, my ISP informed me they'll be doing some infrastructure upgrade in the neighborhood (getting 2.5Gb) which will cause net dropout till morning, so i tried to play Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts by launching in directly from the HDD, but the game starts and there are no saves. I found them in the Steam folder, but isn't the game supposed to make local saves in its default folder and then sync them to steam cloud? Currently i'm hotspotting on 5G from my phone, but don't wanna waste my data AND i hate using wi-fi on my PC. Any way to make the game save in it's default folder first, rather than steam one?

You should launch from steam, just setting it to offline mode.
