Help me make sense of my internet problem

ShrDc

Hi!

I need help finding the reason for my recurring internet problem. My normal internet speed is around 250-300 mb/s. Once every couple of weeks, my internet gets very slow and the tests show around 8-9 mb/s. I usually found that disconnecting the cable from the router and reconecting it solved the problem (is that normal? because it feels very weird) and today to solve it I just disconnected the cable from the pc and the wall, and reconnected them. Is that normal? No one else in my home has this problem. I tried switching cables. What could be causing this? I just feel like it doesn't make any sense.

Have you tried resetting the router? What router do you have?

It happens once every couple of weeks or months, the router is restarted occasionally regardless, and I have to say I don't know what router I have

Could you look in your event viewer and see if there any errors there.

It could be a problem with the ethernet port.
