Let me know your thoughts on this build! I'm paying around $2200 with my discounts as an employee at Best buy

Looks good, just over spending on RAM, Motherboard, and storage, but not by much, and the PSU is more than you need with a 3070.

I'm paying like $200 for SSD and $185 for RAM with my employee discount, I went with the board above because of the high-quality thermal heat sinks because I know the 5800X runs hot.

I'll see if I can downgrade my PSU and buy it from Best buy with my Discount lol. Best buy just has a very limited selection 😞

Ah I see. That makes sense. In that case the build is good. I can't pick out parts for you so here is some stuff to look for instead:

 

For the RAM, try to get 3600Mhz CL16. You chose CL18 which won't make a big difference, but the kit you chose was also more expensive so you might be able to find something better and cheaper.

 

For the SSD, choose something that is TLC with DRAM cache (red color and no asterisk*) from the tier list, tier C or higher:

 

And for the PSU you should choose something from tier A in this tier list 650W+. The RM you chose is great, but maybe you can find something else that is cheaper and just as good:

No problem.

 

Oh and this should give you some peace of mind with the motherboard VRM. Under the AM4 spoiler, you could go as low as tier D with a 5800X. But I'd recommend tier C+. Both of the boards that we chose, the "Carbon" and the "Edge" are in tier S- (although as indicated by the orange color, the "edge" barely makes it into the tier).

I would recommend spending a little less (like $50) and getting a cheaper motherboard (doesnt matter rly just preference) and spend $100. You can also cheap out a little on the case and get a $50 one. Lastly upgrade that graphics card

Oh if I could upgrade the graphics card I would, it took me 4 months of checking for hours a day just to get this Tuf 3070 😕
