laptop RTX 3060 130w vs RTX 3070 140 w - power limit influence on fps ?

xxx68

Hello, I am about to buy Lenono 16" 1200p 165hz gaming laptop alongside my gaming dekstop. Now I cant decide between RTX 3060 130w and RTX 3070 140w. As I read that power limit of gpu is also important in laptops. How much difference in fps would there be ? Ofc I could find videos comparing laptops with 3060 vs 3070 but with different power limits and I am not sure how big influence this power limit make. 3070 is 250 euros more

Umm I'm not getting what you're trying to say here??

RTX3070 in itself is more powerful than RTX3060..  Why are you looking at power limits of 2 different cards? If it were 2 RTX3060s with different power limits, then it would have been understandable.

Edit:

Ok, I've seen such cases. A 3080 with lower power limit can be outperformed by a 3070 with higher power limit. 10W makes a difference.

Probably too late but I will add this. I have the Legion 5 pro 3060.  130W is much closer to the stoch desktop part on the 3060 than 140W is to a reference desktop 3070. 3070 laptop is not using the same silicon as the desktop either.

Having said that both legion models perform better than many other laptops it a gpu one grade higher that run at lower wattage

Maybe this will help

Time Spy 3060  (mine) 9500 - there are some others that have cracked 10000

timespy 3070 (3dmark db) about 10500.

There is more performance from the 3070 but it is not that much. Is that worth an extra 250 for you? I would always like more performance but for me, not worth the extra but I am not devoted to playing games either. YMMV
