Which aptX-LL headphone for PC?

tonyrulez

I want to go wireless on my headphones, and low latency is a must since I don't want to fiddle with audio sync on my PC, and occasionally I would game too. I found that aptX low latency is what I should be looking for. An aptX-LL capable transmitter is already on the way. In my region, for my price range, I found 2 headphones:

  • Avantree Audition Pro
  • Sennheiser HD 350

Frankly I don't know which should be better. On specs alone, Avantree is only BT4.2 but has jack connection in case I'd need it, Sennheiser doesn't, but it's newer so it has BT5.0. Sound quality is something I have no idea about.

If you want low latency Bluetooth, go with 5.0. 4.2 isn't going to cut it. Your PC needs to support 5.0 as well, though, so verify that first.

However, if you really care about low latency, you should avoid Bluetooth entirely and go with a true wireless receiver. You'll have to plug a dongle into your PC, but it will be almost as good as wired.

I had very bad experiences with zero latency headphones. Yes, there is no latency but since the signal is analog, the quality wasn't that good. As I linked it in my first comment, I'll have a 5.0 transmitter.

How come the 4.2 headphone supports aptX-LL then? By the standard, it should mean lower than 40ms latency. And both the 4.2 and 5.0 headphones support this.

"Support" and actually being effective are two different things.

It's on aptX's page so I thought it works.
