I bought a 240hz monitor but it only shows 120 hz

I just bought a 240 hz monitor and it only shows  120 hz max in intel graphics settings. i have an acer predator xb273 and i dont have a dedicated gpu. i use uhd 630 but i am upgrading soon. Please help. Also please dont tell me i spend 400 for nothing.

could be the motherboard or cable you are using that is limiting it. full specs? and what cable? also, what resolution?
