i am attaching the screenshot of my current build (i want to upgrade this pc because sometimes it struggle in after effect projects and octane rendering) help me out

You could go for a 2970 or 2990 threadripper for more cores and a bit better single core performance if you stay on the same motherboard, or switch to a 5950x or wait for the new release of threadrippers(if you have the budget for them)

but 2990 threadripper is also 16 cores i guess

2990 is 32 cores

really, i was just in bhphotovideo and it shows 16 core
