Is my CPU/GPU Dying?

Brownishgrain

Hey everyone,

I've got a bit of an older build and I started having problems about two days ago and they've gotten progressively worse. I will open up my computer and run through my boot process with no problem and can run this for long periods of time it seems. However whenever I try to load games like Apex or Rainbow Six, I can load the game and get into a lobby, sometimes even play for about 15 mins then my PC goes black screen completely and enters a sort of safe mode like I loaded a bad OC. I reset everything to default with my Overclocks and it looks like all my temps are running normal. For safe measure I cleaned out all of my PC and set my fans to max but the problem still persists. Is there something I am forgetting or is it likely that I have some parts slowly going bad?

My Build:

Intel i5-4690k

NVIDIA Gtx 980

MSI Z97-G45

16GB ram believe it is Vengeance

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB

Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD

if it's shutting off without blue screening, then it might be a power supply issue as well. Even worse in this thought process is there's a potential issue with your home power, worst case scenario though.

Hopefully not, because I live in an Apartment building. Could a Power Supply quit working under load after a long life? Because I feel like I have an Over kill Power supply with a Corsair CX 750?

Think of the capacitors and resistors on the power supply like living things, eventually they'll die.
