Just a couple of questions...

Hi,

Just a couple of questions regarding USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers & M.2 PCIe lanes / SATA ports.

Having used PC Part Picker for some time now to help me form my build choices just wanted to check I have the correct understand about a few things.

Firstly the TUF gaming B550 Plus states on the ASUS website that it has x2 USB 3.2 gen 1 headers yet PC part picker says it won't be compatible? Is this just a fault from them?

(Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port, but the Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port will not be usable.)

Secondly I am presented with the message "The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled."

Am I correct in thinking I will just need to check in the manual to see which ports and disabled and avoid them?

Finally if anyone has recommendations I'm more than happy to listen.

Thanks in advanced for any help

That one has got me a bit confused too.

Your case needs this:

And your motherboard has these:

So it will just work, no funny business about that.

Correct.

To make it easy, this is what you're looking for:

You can either use M.2_2 or SATA6G_56 (that's the bottom two SATA ports, with the green B next to it).

You still have four leftover SATA ports, the top four.

Parts list looks solid.

I do notice a couple SSD's, including a 250GB model.

As someone who uses a 250GB boot drive, I can recommend using one of the larger drivers (probably the Corsair drive) as your boot drive
