Budget (including currency): not sure, but absolute maximum would be about £900-£1000, better if it cost me less than this though

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly virtual machines, I don't really game at all so I don't need good graphics. Also a bit of light video editing, but not very complex, general productivity as well.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I might potentially either go up to a 2TB NVMe or 32GB RAM, but not sure which. Also, I would like a graphics card recommendation as the Ryzen 7 doesn't have integrated graphics - I don't need good graphics, just something that will do the job.

Thank you!

You could get 3600 MHz if you're willing to spend for it. You could get a B550 mobo if you want to upgrade to Ryzen 5000 series later, this would prolly be the last gen where they use the AM4 socket. As for a graphics card, Idk, everything is so pricey now, you could get a 1030 or whatever, or you could buy a similarly specced Intel build and use its integrated graphics. Otherwise build looks absolutely fine. Can't talk about the case, got no exp. You could also prolly reduce the PSU to something like 450-500W, since you wouldn't be using a power hungry GPU. A 1030 can run off of a 300W PSU with a 65W CPU xD...

Attention is what makes life meaningful.

Also, please quote me for a reply. 🙂
