How much charge should a laptop ship with?

My understanding is it's terrible to deep discharge batteries of all types.

I received an LG gram 2in1 from Amazon a couple of days ago, and it arrived at 0% charge.  I also noticed the build date was 10 months ago.

A recent MacBook air shipped with about 75% battery, which seems preferable.

I sent back the LG -- was I wrong to worry?

right choice,

I wouldnt trust a product that was built so long ago and has been sitting in storage for that long

it depends.  When i replace laptop battery's some brands ship them with 0% and others ship them with 20%.  They geneally wont turn on tho until power is plugged in for the first time.  As for worrying if your gut says what you did is correct then your right.  Dont second guess your self
