IPS broken? Invisible person shining a torch on my monitor lol.

ASUS MX279 LED Monitor, just turned it on after a few days of no use.

 

It immediately appears with a diagonal shadow across the screen.
Regardless of any graphic settings, resolution or monitor setting changes.

 

It looks like someone shining a torch across the scree. see (IMG_6433.jpg)

 

So I tested:

1. GPU      div > hdmi2 on MX279 : shadow issue
2. GPU    hdmi1 > hdmi1 on MX279 : shadow issue
3. GPU    hdmi2 > hdmi1 on MX279 : shadow issue
4. GPU    hdmi1 > hdmi1 on MX279 : shadow issue
5. GPU    hdmi1 > hdmi2 on MX279 : shadow issue
6. MB GPU hdmi  > hdmi1 on MX279 : shadow issue
7. MB GPU hdmi  > hdmi2 on MX279 : shadow issue
8. GPU      div > hdmi1 on TV    : ok
9. GPU      div > hdmi2 on TV    : ok
10. GPU    hdmi1 > hdmi1 on TV    : ok
11. GPU    hdmi1 > hdmi1 on TV    : ok
12. GPU    hdmi2 > hdmi1 on TV    : ok
13. GPU    hdmi2 > hdmi2 on TV    : ok

 

Probably too many tests,  but sees to show its not my GPU or Cable to be the issue. Seems to the LED.

 

Any ideas? Is it fixable?

 

I already bought a new Monitor (LG 27GL850-B 27inch Class UltraGear Nano IPS 1ms Gaming Monitor), just waiting for it to arrive.

Yeah I know MX279 its 10 years old, its had a great run. its been a great monitor.

Thank you, Thank you @wONKEyeYEs, but isn't that like a reverse issue?

 

My issue is more about the darkened area. The light area is fine.
Sorry I should have been more clear about that in my description.

I will still do my research on that regardless, thank you!
