Is it just me or is Newegg tracking the literal worst thing to ever exist?

It's OnTrac and I was annoyed by their updates. I didn't actually expect the package until the 19th, but their entire tracking system is forthright garbage. Telling me it's arriving today but it's also 1,300 miles away is bad tracking, period. I'm not complaining about the shipping. Literally the whole post is about tracking.

I did get pretty bummed when they finally made the delay official on me though. 😞

Not so long ago there was no tracking, or only for a fee.

So ETA is the 19th.... why not wait till the19th and complain then if it hasn't arrived? As long as it arrives close to the promised date, who cares?

Sometimes I think there are no problems in the World and we need to find new things to complain about.

when you order a car, it takes 3 months. and guess, what, no one sends you updates on the status unless thee is a delay. People still survive.

Yeah, in retrospect this isn't a complaint with Newegg. I am one of many people who have a complaint with OnTrac shipping. Their tracking is trash, apparently my mom ordered some dishes and OnTrac "gave it to the post office" a year and a half ago. It never arrived.

That said, I would literally pay Newgg ten extra dollars and wait another day or two to never deal with OnTrac again.

Happy to help.

I hate OnTrac. I hope it dies in a fire.

Usually you get a link to USPS, UPS, or FedEx on the OnTrac website, though...

I seriously would pay extra for most items to ship them FedEx. I bought a RAM kit a while back, 32 GB of Crucial Ballistics 3600 DDR4, after waiting MONTHS for it to come back in stock. When USPS delivered it, it had f***ing footprints on the envelope. I was so angry, I just about blew a gasket.

Luckily, the RAM itself appears undamaged.

However, I have been very careful lately to ship EVERYTHING fragile by FedEx, UPS, or just cancel the order.

Oh, the other problem with USPS is that they keep delivering packages to our neighbors up a block. Different street name, same house number. We've complained to the Postmaster General for the area about three thousand times, but we still get both packages and mail addressed to someone else on a fairly consistent basis.

Lately I have become well known by my local postmaster, but in a good way in the end.  USPS just seems to like to route packages to where ever they please.  Ordered a shirt for my son and it started in Houston, TX then went on a vacation to Minnesota before heading to Atlanta - really don't understand the route it went lol.  But I ended up having to call the Postmaster to get it back on track (has happened a few times), and normally USPS is the one I never have had issues with - always have issues w/ FedEX and UPS.

USPS won't touch my house, too far out of town. UPS wont hold in town unless there's specific instructions. Luckily, if I leave the garage or wood shed unlocked while I'm at work(3 weeks at a time currently) the UPS guy will just put packages in either one.

If something shows up FedEx, like the at home COVID tests I have to do for work, they get dropped off in the driveway. Then snowed on then plowed. There's 5 or 6 COVID tests in this snow bank...

Not sure if you can, but if you are there most of the time, have whoever ships it for Adult Signature required, so it has to be signed for.

Seeeeee, that works when I'm home. I do rotation work. So under non pandemic years, I'm there for 13 days, fly to work on the 14th day off then work 14 days about 600 miles from home 😉

Yep, I get it.

I'm still waiting for a phone call from usps from Dec of 2004.

What about a po box, that might help.

That's what I have to use. USPS won't go near my house. It's too far out of their service area.

This literally makes no sense to me... Maybe contact a state or even federal level Postmaster?

Then again, USPS can really be a joke when it comes to accountability. I kind of wish the US government would just let it die, and when everyone realizes how actually important it was, they will revive it with better funding, better rules, and more accountability.

Even still, at least until my fiancee moves in, I'd have a PO box either way. I'm gone way too much to have stuff in a mail box. Realistically I only sleep at home less than 6 months a year. If you only include work it's 6 months even. This year it looks to be closer to 4. Plus the post office is on my way out of town. Happens to be across the street from the gas station I go to and all that.
