Is it just me or is Newegg tracking the literal worst thing to ever exist?

derpkotacasper

Part shipped? Yesterday. Last update, Commerce, CA. Delivery date? Today. I am in Salt Lake City. There are no inbetween updates on where the package has been and I don't even know which courier is bringing me my motherboard. They just said "You order part. We ship part. You get part."

What the Hell, Newegg? Every other merchant tells you who is bringing you your stuff...

Happy to help.

You mean to tell me that they drove a package straight from my Commerce City, California to my house just outside of Salt Lake City, UT in roughly two days with no stops to unload any other packages?

Man... I feel special.

Didn't say that. Not every stop will show up on a tracking system. It's possible it simply didn't hit any of them.

I typically get an update in Seattle and then an update in Anchorage. They don't usually make stops between. If they do something went wrong.

I think your complaint should lie with the shipping company, not Newegg.

Did they ship USPS? UPS? FedEx?

Had a small package from them once come cross-country (From Cali to Bama) and it even arrived at the local postal hub.....
Then it turned Northeast and took a tour of the area around Jersey.

Took it about a week and after it's tour was done it finally hit the hub again and was in my box.
That little CPU was well travelled by the time it got here.

It depends on how it was shipped and as said if it hit any points it would update the package location.
The usual shipping (Free) doesn't really tell you jack except it's shipped out.
It gets there when it gets there if it gets there at all.

Not them, but I've had stuff come from Asia. Stop in Anchorage for fuel for the plane, go to Kentucky(You can probably guess the shipping company from that), Seattle then back here. Like, at that point, I'll just drive the 2 hours to the airport. Throw the package over the fence for me.

The store's own tracking system often doesn't show updates. Get the tracking number and track it directly from the shipper's website.

This is your answer.

That reminds of a used rackmount server I ordered off of ebay a few years ago. It shipped out from somewhere in the states toured around the country before hitting the Canadian border just to go back over to the states and then finally over the Canadian border again to my house... Very odd method of shipping a giant box that contains like 50 pounds of computer. lol

Anyways, I don't have anywhere to put any of this shit including the free Noctua I got with my CPU from the seller earlier so I'll just bounce between staring at the door and at my parts.....

NewEgg doesn't do their own shipping. If it's through FedEx/UPS, they provide you with a tracking number. It's as simple as going to google.

It's kind of funny, I have the opposite issue, I get spammed with "your package has moved 10 feet!", "your package has moved an additional 20 feet!"

Last item I got from newegg I was getting multiple updates a day, it was quite irritating.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

It's shipped through OnTrac. I had never heard of this company before today. I'll be shocked if it shows up.... Which really sucks because I just took a 4 hour long adventure through traffic and errands to pick this CPU up with hopes that it would be here when I got home. I came barrelling down the street... saw the porch..... *drives sadly*

Mate...    I order stuff that'll transit through the US in a day, go round the world maybe via Singapore in another.

Then it sits in the back of a truck or corner of a warehouse for a week because no one can be bothered.

Many delivery companies occasionally get sloppy with updates. So it shipped yesterday and you already complain?

Who cares who the company is, once it arrives it arrives. Does it matter if the person handing you the package is USPS, UPD or Fedex?

Depending on where you live, the last mile can get done by a different company.

It's OnTrac and I was annoyed by their updates. I didn't actually expect the package until the 19th, but their entire tracking system is forthright garbage. Telling me it's arriving today but it's also 1,300 miles away is bad tracking, period. I'm not complaining about the shipping. Literally the whole post is about tracking.

I did get pretty bummed when they finally made the delay official on me though. 😞

Sometimes that happens. I ordered a Tablo back in November and USPS got it in Ogdensburg VA. Never heard of it though considering Tablo are based in Ottawa Canada and the US town is directly south and across the St Lawrence river, it made sense that it was the starting point.

I'm in Missouri - it went by ground, taking an unsurprising route via Indianapolis but after spending 24 hours, 20 mins drive away, it went back to Indy for 5 days before coming back.

It's just one of those things, and I think I've only had 1 parcel of the last 25 or so I've ordered since moving that never showed. I'm waiting for my new motherboard from Amazon, which won't ship for another 6 days. I have everything else. It's just a case of being patient and working out when is a good time to do the build, once you've got all the parts.

As for Newegg, my only order from them clearly gave a tracking number, which links to an order history/tracking page on the Newegg website - which, in my case, also gave a link to the UPS tracking page for that order. It jumped from shipping from CA to being out for delivery, with a (now hidden) stop in Kansas. It's just the way tracking works.
