how do i cut out background noise on mic? NT1 AI-1

Zohan2000

bought the rode complete studio kit with audio interface, the NT1 mic and AI-1 audio interface and during my limited use of it so far it picks up a lot of background noise like birds outside, typing and mouse clicking, how can i reduce this? do i need to buy a mixer? (they seem pretty expensive) or is there some software i could use to control volumes and sensitivity? any tips here would be awesome, thanks in advance!

Turn gain down and bring mic closer to your mouth, easiest way to reduce background noise. That mic is very susceptible to background noise.

Software solutions will always be less effective than correct gain staging when it comes to sound quality.

As my gain staging is correct, personally if I need to remove background noise an appliication like Klevgrand Brusfri is used bit there are other open source alternatives and RTX voice available.
