After insalling new CPU PC wont boot up

SimonVican

So I had i3-4170 that i swaped for i7-4790k. When I try to turn on my Pc with the i7 all fans spin but my pc just wont start. Usually when I start my pc i can hear a little beep sound but not this time. I have already checked my bios, cleaned rams, took out the coin-like battery for a while, but nothing is working. After few tries I put back in my old CPU and the Pc works but i wold like to know if there is a way to make the i7 work?

Its possible that you need to update the bios on the motherboard. Haswell-R cpus are newer cpus than regular Haswell.

That CPU on that board is validated at BIOS 2001 or newer.

if you update the BIOS that should fix that issue
