How Can I Make This Cheaper?

Budget: $1100 CAD (796.99 USD)

will be using it for online games + Minecraft

Other details This will be my first build!

What can I change for it to be cheaper (my parents said to make it cheaper)

I wish I had a Monitor like this for my first build, probally would make as much sense as with your current build.

But in all seriousness, the gpu is crappy, try to get an second hand gpu from ebay for the time being, since they will offer better performance.

Ditch the Monitor, instead spend 50$ on a decent sized ssd, and save the rest for later when buying a good gpu

this is a good system without a graphics card, but do you need a graphics card in the budget?

Edit, I'm dumb and I forgot ram and HDD, that should bring you up to 1100

At very least bump to a 1030... that GT710 will seriously not be enough for super high res minecraft.

a geforce gt 710 is not going to run 1440p 144hz. get the corsair 275r airflow case thats about the same price but better. get the cooler master 212 hyper evo rgb. its better and the same price. get a 1080p 144hz at most. switch the 710 into a 1030. I think its about the same price. total will be under 1100 dollars, so you can spend more on something else like the mouse or keyboard.

Its a pretty awesome build. this build should be more than 3x better at gaming than the 1030its like under 1100 dollars assuming you can find it  on msrp. Although this build won't include a monitor, this will run minecraft at max settings over 60 frames per second. I highly recommend you to wait or save up some money to buy a good 144hz 1080p monitor, usually at 170 dollars. If you can save up some money, it would be best. Your choice though 😉 (take price estimate with a grain of salt though)

see if you can scrounge up a cheap 1080p 60hz monitor at a thrift store or sum shit, no point in buying a brand new one tbh.

Drop Ryzen, get an i5 11400.

If you're in Canada, why on earth are you using the US PCPartPicker? Don't bother including USD equivalencies, they're not relevant to you unless you're importing your parts. It just confuses people that try to help with the build.

The monitor is overkill for that video card

You can drop the price of the monitor and get a good ssd. Also, what operating system will you be using?

Monitors make the most sense to spend extra money on as they generally move from build to build.

If you don't want to pay for windows, then get linux. its free and it is a pretty good operating system. This will definnitely cut down the parts list I recommended to about 1100 usd.

It still makes no sense. Getting a higher end video card and lower end monitor might be better.

Then again, I will probably use my 59 inch tv as a monitor, for my next build

Right, the ones that don't exist...

I don't think he should get a video card at all in the interim, his budget simply doesn't allow for it.

Definitely the 11400, I think the price difference definitely justifies the slight increase.
