My Thrift Store Find.

At the local thrift store, I found a Mamiya/Sekor Super Deluxe rangefinder camera. Being from the mid-late 60’s, all controls are manual and mechanical. Definitely pretty dirty, and some components are squeaky, but no dents to suggest a bad drop, and all the controls and shutter appear to function.

The dirt on the lens also appears to be mostly surface level. The 48mm lens is good for F 2.0 as well, so it’s actually fairly fast for something so early.

I was able to get it for $6.00. 😇

All it really needs is a brief cleaning, and some Ilford HP5 400, and it’s good to go. (A variety pack would be nice) Only thing is figuring out film development. I don’t imagine I’d be shooting 35mm enough to invest in my own development tools and chemicals, but finding a decent lab itself is pretty pricey.

Never thought I’d get a 35mm film camera though. I figured I’d probably end up with a medium format film camera one day, owing to the format being quite good compared to digital.
