Need advice for cheap pre-built or diy build.

Budget (including currency): $60 USD

 

Country: USA

 

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Kids browser based school work, and some fairly basic Unity coding. Youtube at 720p is fine in this case. Linux is fine. These will not be used for gaming.

 

Other details: I'd prefer some sort of thin client sized device that's low power. Would a 4GB RPi4 work fine for this? 

My kids already have gaming pcs in their rooms, but I really want to create a dedicated workspace for them with separate PC's. Even an old laptop would be fine with me, I just don't know how well older tech is holding up nowadays.
