Status updates - can quotes be shown a bit nicer?

pythonmegapixel

In the "Recent Status Updates" section on the homepage, if someone puts a quote in the status update it seems to handle it by just sticking the word "Quote" in front of it.

So, if the SU looks like this:

Quote

Somebody once told me,

Quote

I really like cheese!

then it becomes

Quote

Somebody once told me,Quote I really like cheese!

To me this sounds somewhat inelegant. I think it would be nicer if it looked like this:

Quote

Somebody once told me, {quote}: "I really like cheese!"

(replace curly brackets with square ones, for some reason typing square ones causes it to be interpreted as BBcode even though nothing else uses BBcode on this forum)

in other words, the Quote would be in brackets and have a colon after it to make it clear that it's not part of the actual SU, then the quoted text is put in quotation marks so you can see when it ends.

I know it's a minor quibble but maybe this is something which could be snuck into the next update?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.
