Please Save me :(( (Planning my first PC)

Grumpig

Budget (including currency): 15,000-17,000 HKD

Country: Hong Kong

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, VR, Streaming, Photo editing.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi, guys this is my build that I have researched into. Some parts I was recommended by some shops that build computers. For memory and Ram I'm a bit unclear on how much I should be spending. Also on my cooling. I'm a bit unsure about it but I heard the brand was good.

Thanks again to anyone that read this. 😭

-Change the Power supply. The Gigabyte "P" series is pretty bad.
-Are there any SSDS between the price of the Gigabyte and the Crucial?
-Just go with the liquid freezer II 360. 420mm AIOS are stupidly overkill
-Just go with the 3200MHZ, barley a difference between the 3200 and 3600

Try checking the 5800x, it is usually better than the 10900k if the main thing you are doing is gaming and other single core workloads.

Alright I'll give it another look for the power supply. I wasn't sure if it was bad because I thought Gigabyte is a reputable brand so be good 😅 I also got recommended a FSP Hydro G PRO 850 . Have you heard of the brand?

There are. just I wasn't sure about the brands. I seen some on new egg and some reviews for those brands were very half half on being good or bad. So I wasn't sure. So for the SSD it's all a bit confusing really.

Ah Thanks I just wasn't sure If i needed an overkill one because people were telling me with such a CPU it would be pretty hot😅

A friend was telling me that streaming for him with a Ryzen was a bit clunky at times. He said Intel had better software support that's why I chose intel 😅

If you are streaming you might need the extra cores, but still would say get a 10850k instead of 10900k as the 10900k is just a 10850k clocked a couple hundred mhz higher. However you could just use nvenc.

Seems like a much better option. FPS makes some great PSUS.
Here is the PSU tier list for more reference, the hydro G is in the A tier

Don't stream off your CPU, normally you want to use your GPUS encoder.

Also I don't think thats true. Ryzen is great for productivity and streaming (if you do stream of your cpu)

Thanks! I'll give it a look. It's cheaper by 421 dollars so that's a good start! 😄

Ah I see, I'm just so used to using Intel that's why I thought would be a safe option to go with em. Even my laptop right now is intel 🙈 but I'll give it a look at the  5800x 🙂

Alot of problems with this
-This is a U.S list, prices and stock don't translate to H.K, where OP is.
-He didn't ask for peripherals
-You are overspending on way too many parts. That AIO is not good for that price, and same with that motherboard.
-Overpriced RAM
-Op doesn't need Gen4.
-Overpriced PSU
-A 3060ti for this price point is a no-go. not to mention OP only had questions about his CPU, mobo, ram, PSU, and SSD.

in HKD the price is $2000 USD and he dosen't need to get the peripherals

He can just put the price into google and turn it into HKD

I admit the ram is pretty expensive

Would there be any suggestions on where I might be able to cut cost?

Ideally I would like to spend about only 15000 HK dollars but if you think I would need more than that to run an RTX 3070 that's no problem😅
