Yahoo Answers is shutting its down.

21 hours ago, Catt0s said:

Yahoo stated that if there is any feedback or comments about this, an email can be sent to yahoo_answers_sunset@verizonmedia.com. The shutdown will not have any impact on other services.

anyone else weirded out that Yahoo answers is using an @verizonmedia.com email address instead of @yahoo.com ?

RIP all the "Can is I get Pregante?" threads on Yahoo Answers.

I've used it for references and quick answers many times in the past. But I've never posted anything on it, or ever thought about posting there.

What's weird is that I realized Google must have pretty much blacklisted Yahoo Answers from their results because it's been years since I've been there.  I remember 10 years ago they were super common to be first-page results.

Though not really weird, that's just how you kill competition,  which yahoo was at some 10 years ago.

Actually it's funny cause I know what song this is  (10/10 songbtw)

I'm actually one of those people who thinks that anonymity is overrated. Some people confuse privacy and anonymity and think they go hand in hand, and that protecting privacy means that you need to protect anonymity. I think that's wrong. Anonymity is important if you're a whistle-blower, but if you cannot prove your identity, your crazy rant on some social-media platform shouldn't be visible, and you shouldn't be able to share it or like it.
