So, how’s my build?

bsg16

Hello!

I'm new to this forum so please let me know if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

Anyway, I'm planning a PC build and since I'm not very good at this, I'm seeking a second opinion from people that are more informed about the subject.

I'll be using it for Creative Cloud, perhaps some gaming (but definitely not my main concern at all), productivity and so on; on idle hours I plan on leaving it with Nicehash Miner.

I live in Portugal and I don't have a defined budget limit, but I'm looking for fairly priced components that can give me more power for the least amount money.

This is what I put together:

Processor

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

3.9GHz 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 Processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz

(if I see the need to do so, I'll get a dedicated cooler, but at first I'm not planning on that)

Memory

HyperX Predator 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600MHz CL17

32GB of DDR4 memory at 3600 MHz

(I wonder, is 3600MHz too low, enough, or overkill?)

Storage

Western Digital Black SN850 1TB

1TB of NVMe SSD storage

Up to 7000MB/s Read and 5300MB/s Write speeds

(I want the fastest storage my motherboard and CPU can handle, as long as it’s fairly priced)

Graphics Card

Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro+ 8GB OC

AMD Radeon RX 5700XT with 8GB of GDDR5 memory

Motherboard

ATX Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

(On a motherboard I want broad upgrade possibilities and recent technologies, but I don’t want to go over 400€ on it. Integrated Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth are appreciated. I found this motherboard to fulfill my wishes. Oh, I also want the RGB to have the ability to be permanently turned off)

Power Supply

Seasonic Focus 750W

(Based on my PC’s estimated wattage, this’ll do)

Case

NZXT H510 White ATX

(It’s pretty lol)

When it comes to peripherals I got my mind made up so I don’t think I need to include them, but hey, if any of y’all is curious about it I’ll be happy to add it in!

Did I do well? Is everything in here alright and balanced?

Thanks in advance 😛

I had a mistake on the memory section I needed to correct.

Couple things -

—Try to use PcPartPicker. Makes things a lot easier.
-What is your budget? Knowing this information gives a lot more perspective on what your overspending and underspending on.

Now some problems with the build

-The 3800x is good, but have you looked at Zen 3? 5800x or 5900x maybe?

X570 seems useless for you, honestly a B550-F Gaming Wifi may be a better choice, although I’m not sure if you can control the RGB.

-The 5700XT is a good card, but how much is it? GPUS are very hard to find currently

-The H510 isn’t a very good case, has basically no airflow. There are much better options for the exact same price (P360A)

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

I used PC Part Picker and it said no compatibility issues so, yay I guess?

Here’s the link to my build as well: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8PBGz7 (The keyboard is missing because it doesn’t show up in the search but it’s the Razer ProType. There also isn’t a microphone option and when it comes to audio I’ll use headphones) The 5700XT price, at the time of writing is *incredibly* overblown, but the rest is quite close to my Portuguese store.

Considering I live in Portugal, with the Euro currency, I wouldn’t want to go over 1800€, limit is sort of 2000€. I made my calculations and I’m sitting comfortably at around 1755.90€, so in that aspect I think I’m good.

I chose the X570 motherboard because of the integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I’m *really* not into buying separate network cards lol. And also because I appreciate more than 1 PCIe 4.0 slot, yk, ✨upgradability✨
I feel like a slightly higher end motherboard (but not crossing into wild prices) will give me more possibilities.

I did consider the 5800X but it’s more expensive and I’m not sure about what improvements it’ll give me for the extra price.

I’m pretty confident about the 5700XT because it seems like a really good deal rn.

I literally chose the case because it is pretty AHAHAHAHAHA but I’ll be happy to look around for alternatives :) the P360A doesn’t captivate me particularly because RGB, I really do not want it. I just want an easy way to disable it if I can’t get something without it.

So what’s the difference between the 3800X and 5800X?

Thank you!

well, there is Portugal PCP.

X570 is still a waste of money tbh. I know that the upgradability is nice, but -
-PCIE 4.0 is still kind of a waste of money, barley a difference between NVME except in stuff like file transfers
-X570 is almost double the price.
-The B550-F Gaming is still a great motherboard. It can handle a 5950x (16 cores) with ease. Trust me, you will have a lot of possibilities with this. You don't need a 400 euro motherboard.
-What is the price of the 5700XT?

--I think the white Meshify C is your best alternative. The H510 is a pretty bad case and will run very hot due to it's significant lack of airflow. The Meshify C has alot of airflow, it looks simillar to a H510, and is 4 euros more.
-The 5800x is around 20 - 25% faster in multicore performance, but in gaming, the 5800x is a major upgrade. But because of your workload, I think the 3800x is the better value option tbh.

SO heres my list

IT doesn't include a GPU, or peripherals. Once you add peripherals you would have around 650 euros to spend on a GPU. If you don't want the AIO you can also just simply use the stock cooler

I'll save myself those 89.90€ and then I'll see if I need a dedicated cooler

oh wait omg I just noticed

I forgot to mention that the 2000€ were for the computer itself only. They don't include peripherals.
