Been experimenting with different types of genres I don't usually listen to, hence the more "rap" side of things, bit of a skew from FKJ, Daft Punk and other typical "audiophile" artists.

Also been really enjoying this one lately:

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

One of the more interesting covers of Numb that I've heard.

Dude, what's with you and the cover tracks/songs/bands? Post the originals please... The original artists and producers are rolling in their graves right now.  ?

Ehhh... I'd argue that cover songs help draw attention to the original work or are meant to pay homage to the original creator, sort of like fan art or fan-made products.

For instance: SHE LOVES YOU, a tribute album dedicated to YUI composed entirely of cover tracks by 12 different artists/bands.

Have a listen to one of 'em:

ステレオポニー (Stereopony) - again

They're good covers, what can I say?

But since you asked so nicely:

Because some of the covers are better than the originals (IMO), and/or just give a new/fresh spin on the original work that many of us have heard hundreds or even thousands of times. And like Crunchy Dragon mentioned; it also exposes new listeners to the original work, if they so choose to explore it.

Some examples of really good covers that, IMO, are better than or complementary to the originals:
