First post, long time viewer.... I had to throw this out to the community for laughs but scalpers are doing what scalpers do and buying the new 11900K and selling on ebay for crazy markups! Todays 11th gen official launch started up ebays scalping issues again, as MSRP is around the $650 mark depending on the vendor these idiots are selling them on ebay for $900+ as if anyone actually wants them. Finally scalpers are about to get screwed over when they realize that its the same product with some software tricks that's been the norm for multiple generations now (I know there is some small changes to the architecture) without any huge improvements.

 

With this lets all sit back and watch them squirm while we laugh! If anyone has bots setup for ebay reviews please start burning the pages and sellers about how they are such awful people and no one wants 11th gen anyways.

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think they're going to get owned as hard as you think. Intel supply has not been really constrained, but people not in the know are going to be seeking out the "latest and greatest", especially if they're settling because they can't find the Zen 3 they really wanted.

By extension I mean all of the 11th gen line in general, I just use the 900k since its supposed to be king of the hill. Those who are in the market and know about the generations will know not to buy it but yes there will be people who buy the I9 BS, hopefully they wont be stupid and buy on ebay to start with....

That's actually what I'm banking on, they think it will be in high demand but those in the know wont buy it, but those who don't will have the opportunity to buy them at MSRP from a legit seller pulling sales from scalpers. That's my hope anyway....

Wanting scalpers not to exist is like saying you don't want suppliers to exist because they are making money off of you. Scalpers are the byproduct of greedy impatient buyers. Don't forget which one is the cause of the "issue".

Yes but as Anthony pointed out in their release video the last few generations have seen very little improvement over the last few generations in testing. Yes there was changes, more cores but not that "next generation" improvement that was expected after years of refreshes. AMD Zen 2 alone should have pushed intel to actually make an advancement in engineering but the bean counters liked the idea of making money more and spending very little in R&D so they can reap the profits. Maybe next time....
