New Ray tracing Games causing GPU crashes ?

I am able to my 2080ti overclocked with most of my older games like bf5 and Modern warfare no issue. it seems games like dirt5 and cyberpunk cause GPU crashes which causes the game to crash. I have right now +170 on the core and +700 mem

Give a few hours of +135 or +150Core and +400Vram a go instead of a much warmer +700
Some games are more stable than others, some less so when using specific heavy features (while overclocked when you think your stable)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Heavier loads will be more taxing on your GPU, thus your overclock might be unstable.

Your OC is probably just not as stable as you thought. The more stress the more like the OC is going to fail. That's why you should test it with something like Kombuster to really push it farther than you're ever likely to go in a game to make sure it's truly stable.

You guys are all right im going to try and dial it back to +150 and +500 mem and see how it goes. Do you guys think RTX games are for picky then non rtx games ?

I mean,  on the bright side, you found a good application to test your overclocks.

Personally I use ROTTR or MHW, especially ROTTR is brutal finding unstable overclocks ...

I'm actually one of those people who thinks that anonymity is overrated. Some people confuse privacy and anonymity and think they go hand in hand, and that protecting privacy means that you need to protect anonymity. I think that's wrong. Anonymity is important if you're a whistle-blower, but if you cannot prove your identity, your crazy rant on some social-media platform shouldn't be visible, and you shouldn't be able to share it or like it.

I use EVGA FTW3 Ultra 2080 tis and my usual 24/7 overclock is +117(2040mhz) but if I use RT in games over +110 crashes(2010mhz).

I can do + 175(2145mhz) in some benches but not even close in RT games.

My EVGA XC 2080 tis used + 130 24/7 and + 200 benching but still had to use +110 in RT games.

+170 doesn't even sound stable, and probably isn't, some games are more picky than others. I go with hitman and cyberpunk for stress, though some ppl swear by the opening scenes in witcher 3 for stability.
