Literally every day we get a new thread complaining about scalping and GPU shortages. Can we make one thread to discuss this?

I'd support merger to a megathread for all of these.

 

But maybe it should be called "megathread for entitled gamers complaining about miners and the free market"

I find it hilarious people think scalpers are single-handlely causing the shortage. If anything I think Apple had 80% of TSMC or some fab reserved which was putting pressure on the supply chain as well as the auto industry well before the Corona madness and fires happened. If you want a GPU you're simply going to have to fork the cash over end of story until things improve. Which by the sounds of it should as Intel is opening new fabs and started taking orders for everything

If anything I think Apple had 80% of TSMC or some fab reserved which was putting pressure on the supply chain as well as the auto industry well before the Corona madness and fires happened. If you want a GPU you're simply going to have to fork the cash over end of story until things improve. Which by the sounds of it should as Intel is opening new fabs and started taking orders for everything 

Smartphones take a large chunk of fab output. Smartphones still sell by the truckload, and flagship SoCs are actually quite large, typically sitting close to the 100mm^2 mark for second gen products of a given node. Apple does seem to take the lion’s share of 5nm output as well.

There's really no point. Having megathread won't solve the issue, and there are good reasons to have separated threads since the issues relating are covering several areas and issues. Its not as clear cut as with LMG events RRR and VAG.
