Go to solution Solved by GoldForest,

I went ahead and bought the 2K OLED. Thanks you everyone for their replies.

I'm looking at getting a new TV for my family's living room. I looked around online and the consensus is that the LG OLED CX is the best TV, but it's a little pricy, so I want get the feedback of people on here before I pull the trigger. I'd like to spend around $1500, but am willing to spend the $2000 for the CX if you guys agree.

Here's a list I'm looking at:

Amazon.com: LG OLED55CXPUA Alexa Built-In CX 55-inch 4K Smart OLED TV (2020 Model): Electronics

Amazon.com: SAMSUNG 65-inch Class Crystal UHD TU-8000 Series - 4K UHD HDR Smart TV with Alexa Built-in (UN65TU8000FXZA, 2020 Model): Electronics

Amazon.com: LG 65UN7300PUF Alexa Built-In UHD 73 Series 65-inch 4K Smart UHD TV (2020 Model): Electronics

Unless ur looking to place the display in a very bright room, u cant go wrong with an OLED.

If u've only ever known LCD, ur in for a treat.

OLEDs top the review score boards for a reason.

I have only had LED. I have a Nanocell in here in the basement, and I was amazed by that. The Living room is decently lit and all the windows have shades, so any sunlight is mostly blocked out.

I went with the "B" version of the LG OLED at $300 cheaper than the "Cs".

I have a LG NanoCell 85(49") and it does not compare to an OLED. I does make a great gaming monitor since it is 120hz and has HDMI 2.1.

Does anyone know how well the OLED handles upscaling 1080P content?

Check out HiSense.  Their new line of TV's offers some really low input lag, 4k UHD, and HDR and 120hz and about a third of the price.  Plus all reviews state their customer service is excellent and its very reliable for a cheap TV.  I unfortunately went with a Vizo M series with similar specs before I saw the HiSense line.  LG is nearly impossible to beat on clarity and color.  However I found a site reviewing input lag and HiSense beat the LG (by some fraction of a fraction of a second) still 500 -800 vs 1500+ makes you wonder if you really need that barely noticeable picture difference.

"1080p content looks almost as good as native 4k content."

Thanks, but I'd like to stick with LG or Samsung. I'm not worries about input lag. The TV is for movies and show viewing only. No gaming is going to be done on it.

Awesome, thanks.

Well, if nothing else comes up, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the 2k OLED.

Should I get the sound bar if I can or worry about the sound bar later?

Thats up to you tbh.

If u dont already have a HT setup then i personally wouldn't rely on inbuilt speakers, even though they are much better nowadays, nothing beats a proper setup and the new soundbars are apparently rather good, though i dont personally have experience with them.
