You guys all gaming on high-end K-series and Ryzen CPUS, my little bro's been running strong on an i5-3310m or something with only two cores. He got that little machine after I got my hands on my current build, listed in the signature. How about the rest of you?

Current Rig: Intel Xeon E5-1650 0, Generic C602 Motherboard, 32GB DDR3, 1.25 TB worth of SSD storage, MSI GeForce GTX 1050 TI, all in the Dell Precision T3600 Chassis with 635w PSU.

Future Rig: Intel Core i7-11700k, ASUS Z590 Motherboard, 32GB DDR4-3600, 2x 1TB M.2 SSDs, EVGA RTX 3080, 80+ Gold 850w PSU, Corsair 5000d Case.

There is a thread full of people sharing their setup, specifically with photos of the machine and the desk area:

Until last August, I was gaming (actually just playing Minecraft 1.6.2 with mods) on a Core i3-2365M (2C/4T) and 4GB of single-channel RAM.

I also had a 1366x768 60 Hz screen.

It ran 40-50 FPS.

That laptop is sadly dead (something broke, no idea what) but the hard drive and screen still work. HDD is in my PC, screen is a monitor that's not doing anything right now.

Not to be a dick, but old CPU/GPU's aren't like old cars.  It's not the cool thing to have an early CPU like it is to have a '69 Camaro.

If you can make them work to your satisfaction, very cool.  But it's not exactly bragging rights.

I've still got old computer crap on my shelves (Intel C2D e4300, AMD K2-350, etc), no chicks call because of it 😞

I used an x4 860k for a while, ran most things ok but anything in the realm of AAA current year was out of the question, was totally fine for playing indie or old games and that's basically what I did for around 5 years until December when I got a 5600x. It would've probably lasted me a bit longer but I really wanted a quieter pc and productivity was like crawling through mud at times-and I wanted to get something before they all vanished from shelves again.

finally escaped fm2+

I have a few that are what some would call "Grail" pieces.
I'm serious about the grail part guys.

WR for Socket 754 ref clock
Bones`s Reference Frequency score: 495.77 MHz with a Infinity NF4X

I remember back in the day when the 165's came out, all the guys trying to find the golden example that would clock. These were cheap, easy to OC making them very popular but never thought I'd wind up one day with the grail of them all (So far).

Bones`s SuperPi - 32M score: 21min 54sec 141ms with a Opteron 165

And what is currently the all-time WR for a CPU in MHz ran to get a benchmark result.
Bones`s SuperPi - 1M score: 9sec 594ms with a FX-8320

And the chicks still haven't called yet..... What a bummer. 😁

I wasn't bragging. I was merely expressing surprise that such an old, low-end CPU was managing things like Subnautica at a decent framerate. The "Not to be a dick" is frankly just stating that your reply is, in fact, a dick reply. Not everyone has a 9900k, not everyone tells about their hardware and possessions to get girls.

When you run a 1.8GHz chip at 3.42Ghz on a ThermalTake Typhoon.... they still won't call 😞

Oh I fully realize what it means to preface something like that. Total dick comment, 100%.

No, not everyone does have a 9900k.  Took me 30 years to have even this machine, so trust me I've been in all these shoes around here.
