Facebook exec says in hidden-cam discussion that Facebook and Google need to be broken up, and Zuckerberg stopped

In clips from the undercover discussion, the Facebook exec says that Facebook is doing a lot of damage to the world, and that Facebook and Google are not companies but "countries" with far too much power. He further says that he would break-up Facebook and remove Zuckerberg from the CEO position.

 

He says that data is powerful and, interestingly, that pretty much everything about a person can be deduced from just 5 known things about them. Presumably, Facebook has far more than just 5 points of data on everyone who has used their platform.

 

He also says that a lot of "shit" is "going down" because "people aren't paying attention" (an argument I've been emphatically making for years), and that AI will surpass humans, and then humans will be to AI like ants are to humans who step on them without caring about it or giving it a thought.

 

He also mentions something called CRISPR, calling it frightening and eugenics, adding that he doesn't know how to stop it.

Benny Thomas, Facebook's Global Planning Lead, told a reporter from Project Veritas that his company is as powerful as a country, and needs to be broken up. “No king in history” is as powerful as Mark Zuckerberg, he claimed.

 

“No king in the history of the world has been the ruler of two billion people, but Mark Zuckerberg is,” Thomas told a Project Veritas reporter, in an interview published by Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe on Monday. Thomas claimed that Facebook is “doing a lot of damage in the world,” citing CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s forays beyond social networking and into healthcare and even gene editing.

 

“The government needs to step in and break up Google and Facebook,” he said, adding that to do so would be “a better thing for the world.”

Thomas also stated that by gathering so much data on its users, Facebook can profile them with ease. He told Project Veritas’ reporter that he can identify “racist people” from their data, and can take “five things” about a user and “pretty much figure out everything else” from that. Mark Zuckerberg told a Congressional hearing in 2018 that he was “not sure” how many data points Facebook gathers on its users, but a 2016 ProPublica investigation “collected more than 52,000 unique attributes that Facebook has used to classify users.”

 

 

I see testimonial value in this video disclosure, which might encourage lawmakers to act against tech companies and maybe start planning to break-up Facebook and Google, and maybe some others.

 

In an undercover video like this, Benny Thomas is being more frank than an exec would be willing to be under grilling - such as when Mark Zuckerberg was recently, while refusing to give any information about Facebook, and while downplaying the idea that Facebook and its data-operations are dangerous. Basically, he's giving-off the signals that Zuckerberg was desperate to suppress during his November, 2020 senate judiciary committee hearing. And I'm sure that those grilling Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey at that hearing will be eager to use Benny Thomas' comments in their favour against tech companies.

He might have some uncomfortable talks at work after this. But maybe it could lead to some reflection inside the company.

 

The lady who filmed their conversation tells him she's going to show it to everyone, and he tells her she shouldn't do that. But he doesn't seem desperate to stop it from being disclosed.

I honestly have no idea why billions of people give "power" to Fecesbook. I've been there for a brief moment, basically out of curiosity. It's nothing but bunch of pretentious people showing off their pretentious perfect lives on a pretentious platform. If Fecesbook is gone this moment and nothing of value will be lost.

The Twitter video is just a mash-up of brief excerpts from the longer YouTube video.

 

In the longer video, the mention of CRISPR is in connection to Mark Zuckerberg and his wife's philanthropy organization, Chan-Zuckerberg. The conversation is this:

Can we just put a moratorium on using Project Veritas as a source? When it's not outright lying or attempting entrapment, it's frequently taking footage out of context or otherwise manipulating it. Even if this is perfectly accurate (it's not, see below)... I'd rather not give any more air to an organization that's dishonest as a matter of course.

 

As it stands, "something called CRISPR" is not exactly shocking or revelatory. That's CRISPR-Cas9 (there are other methods, this is the most common), a well-known, enzyme-based gene editing technique. It has its limitations, and there's already a lot of ethical scrutiny over its use. It has the potential to cure diseases (particularly genetically inherited ones) and end famine. So, as usual, Veritas isn't providing the real story.

Not exactly, but close enough. Everyone on facebook volunteered that information, and the terms of service require you to use your real name. 

 

The best thing anyone can can do on facebook is to use a picture of their pet as their profile image. Because then the facial recognition algorithm will try to match you with your pet photos.
