proxy squid speeds latency speed very slow

I've made squid proxy servers on amazon aws ec2 using :

redhat 8 arm machine with 8 vcpus and 16gb ram ssd , 5 gigabit network , ebs optimized. Speeds on folgdn proxy tester 500-600 ms

windows server 2019 2 cpu , 1gb ram ssd , squid settings: cache_mem 64mb , cache all I've setup more than normal. Speeds 350-500ms

Is squid slow ?

How I can make them faster or how I can make faster proxy servers ?

When I test them on my pc connected to them they are twice faster.
