Getting BSOD error "VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR" on brand new PC when I added RTX 3070...

Hello,
Built my brand new pc about two weeks ago, and last week I finally added my GPU, a Gigabyte OC Rtx 3070. Since then I have been having blue screen crashes frequently at random with the same error code "Video Scheduler Internal Error".
I can force the blue screen by loading up Netflix on Microsoft Edge and hitting the next episode button until blue screen (usually 3 ep skips). Edge also stutters sometimes, not like a bad internet stutter but like the GPU is struggling, which shouldn't be the case. Edge is using the correct 3070, so it isn't that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Things I've tried to fix it:

  • Sfc scan
  • DDU Uninstall/Reinstall display drivers
  • Change PCIE to 3.0 in bios
  • Update Bios

Everything in the PC is new, parts include:

  • I7-10700k
  • MSI Mpg z490 gaming
  • MSI 750w gold PSU
  • RTX 3070 Gigabyte gaming OC (Not using a riser cable)
  • WD black m.2 nvme

  • 3 weeks later...

Had exactly same problem with 3090, typically happening after an episode finished and the next started to load. It was not a GPU drivers issue. I needed to update Intel MEI drivers for my motherboard.

Same here. 3090. Sometimes happens right when I launch the Netflix app.

I got this BSOD when first using Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling. you could try toggling it on/off, see if that helps

Thanks for your reply.

Do you mind sharing your hardware configuration?

Are we talking the same BSOD here (0x119 –VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR)?

yes, definitely said video Scheduler internal error.

this was back when HAGS first came out. i enabled it hoping for extra performance. then i encountered these BSODS.

i stil have Hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling enabled, and i no longer get any errors. but disabling it back then stopped the BSODs for me.

i am however only running:

i7-2600 non-k
16GB ddr3 1333MHz (4x4GB)
gtx 1050 ti (no 6-pin, PCI-E slot power only)

310W PSU, lol

Honestly speaking, this feature is enabled on my other machine (an i7 with a 2080Ti) without issue. I will try your suggestion, however.

Thanks!
