3900X heating up to 95 C in stress test,normal?

Hey friends.

Well actually I thought it's normal but googling about it saw it isn't.

I ran Aida64 stability test yesterday with HWInfo and I remember that T die was reaching 96 C which I suppose is way too hot.

I'm using H100i Platinum which should be more then enough for this CPU.

Cooler is mounted okay I suppose,screws don't loose and all was installed brand new back in 7/2020 (my work).

Since I dismantled the case I will put it back tomorrow and try to test in prime95 small FFT and report back or you want me to test in some other benchmark.

I will write  you the voltage of the CPU,readings from BIOS I suppose are most accurate.

I didn't OC the CPU,nor did I flash with latest BIOS (never did).

I mean I don't use PC in synthetics tests but I just want it to work normal.

Could be the issue that I set up fans of an AIO to balanced?

What should I do if this is heating issue?

p.s. I remember jay2cents doing OC with 3900x and Crosshair Hero VIII and telling that the boards sets by default too high voltage to the CPU (was it 1.4 V I really can't remember),I can try to find that vid.

do you have enough airflow in your case?

More then enough,case is TT View 91 TG RGB (3 intakes with 140 mm).

Idle temp,voltage of the CPU...?

Maybe HWInfo is reporting wrong value,maybe I should check with ryzen master,huh?

u could try cleaning off the thermal paste and use something like Thermal Grizzly in its place.

it doesn't look like that case has good airflow, can't find any proper reviews of the case but it seems the glass covering the front panel would be an impediment.

Hmmm.so what if it's glass in front?

There are like 100000 of cases with glass in front of fans.

You think that the front fans don't have enough intake because of the glass,oh come on,it's enough on a side of case for vent,the glass is not melting lol...

Look at the fans airpressure in mm H2O.I can stick the hannd inside the case and from like 2 feet feel the ambient air coming into the case.

The fans are great on this case,premium TT model.

Hmm.that paste is exoensive as gold.

I have MX-4 though.

1, glass on front really does  kill temps, 2 its a god damn ryzen 9 what voltage and clock are you at, 3 do you have enough exhaust?

I could easily test that.

My case is opened now.

I can Prime95 test with open and close case and report back.

But ofc that woouldn't mean much.

I have spare fans,tell me where should I put them.

I can install addiitional fans,just tell me how many and where,as exhaust or intake?
On exhaust I have only one fan which came with case.

For voltages and clock will report tomorrow since it's quite late now and I dismantled the case wanting to install RGB strips.

I don't think property damage is really the best solution I'm just saying it's not a good case for air flow coming into the front, as pretty as the glass is.

 

You might want to consider a top mounted radiator and some negative pressure, it could potentially draw air in from more places in the case and feed the radiator better.

i like it because it doesnt need to super glass front you ca slide in and slide out, but glass cases can sometimes have no airflow especially with a ryzen 9 with 12 cores

So in idle this is the voltage:

Idle temp is between 40 and 60 C depends on the clock speed (reported by Ryzen Master).

Now let me test with Prrime95.

Ok setting the AIO to balanced mode from "quiet" I got 5 degrees lower temp,which is not bad,sttill 85 C high as hell.

Airflow issues are easy to test, just remove the side panel and as many panels as possible (I know removing the front panel is a challenge for you, but you should try again) and is the thermals improve, hen his is indicative of poor airflow in the case.

You might want to consider a top mounted radiator and some negative pressure, it could potentially draw air in from more places in the case and feed the radiator better.

The radiator is moounted at the top.

I can install additional fans at the bottom as intake but I only have one fan as exhaust.
