I have been auto-refreshing the LTT videos page all morning but when a new video was posted it was already 18 minutes old. Am I doing it wrong?

I think you need to be there when the video airs in order to have a shot at buying a graphics card from the VAG program. I have been auto refreshing my browser every 5 seconds and literally clicked on the video the second it popped up on my screen at 10:11 AM PST but by that point the video had already been watched 35000 times and the comments were all from within the last 18 minutes. Am I making YT think I'm a bot so they don't update my browser? Is there a faster way to find new videos that I don't know about?

What's the difference between seeing it as soon as it's up and waiting a few minutes?

Today's video was posted at 17:58:12 UTC. 

The thread for it was posted ~7 minutes earlier

The tweet for it, was posted the exact same minute as the YouTube video.

The video may have been posted to their Discord earlier, but I can't verify that.

 

In conclusion, LTT uploads the video unlisted and may link it some other places before setting it to public on YouTube.

If you truly want to be (one of) the first to watch the video, you need to look at the forum and Twitter (and maybe Discord) too.

 

EDIT: oh by the way, I just provided the above info to answer your question. I don't know if you actually need to be the first to watch the video for that Verified Gamers thing,

It's likely the page is being cached somewhere between your browser and youtube's servers. Possibly at your ISP.

You need another hobby. You can watch youtube videos at any time.

my statement stands lol. Auto refreshing constantly for a CHANCE at a gpu. I want one too but I'm not gonna dance like a monkey for it haha

I'm doing the same thing as them, I've been sitting on my backorder since Oct 7 for a 3080. If I have a shot at getting one through LTT then I'm going to take it and cancel my backorder if I manage to get one. I get that the odds are very slim but I literally have nothing better to do for that 3 hour upload window Monday - Friday.

Thats kinda my point. Rather than beating the shit out of the refresh button for a "maybe" and no doubt stressing yourself out you could be doing any number of other things. A new hobby as I stated earlier. Almost anything would undoubtedly be more beneficial and productive.

YouTube doesn't display video's in the creator's home page or even the video page, iirc, as soon as they're released.

Video's can be found in the subscriptions feed before they appear in the creator's page.

haha i do the same i hope i can get the card, for the time of when the video is uploaded, i use this website https://citizenevidence.amnestyusa.org/ just enter the video and it will tell the time it got published, for this video it wasimage.png.636046ffd8f2babfa04eba9feae08c57.png

Or... you can just get the 'youtube upload time' extension on your browser. just go to any video and once the page loads you can click the extension and it will tell you the upload time and date

Are they just re-uploading Wan shows over and over again? I seem to get the same Wan show that is saying it's minutes old yet I sent it when first aired week prior?

Thats intentional to prevent accidental DoS. Just follow the subforum and set it to send you email. Or setup RSS. Or enable desktop notifications (mobile ones may or may not work).
