is it safe to use molex to two sata power connectors? help.

ok so i need to power two sata ssds and i have an extra molex from psu.. now i found a sabrent molex to two sata adapter.. https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B016JHK9TE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

this one.. but then when i searched google.. i came across a reddit post saying one should never use molex to sata because its dangerous.. someone else said " use molex to sata loose all data" etc.. another person said using molex to sata can make the pc catch fire.. is it so.. please help.

Its fine. As always make sure nothing dodgy is happening wiring wise.

You're just converting one end to another. As long as the kit is fine, you shouldn't run into any problems.

If you have anything you're worried about losing, you should be doing proper backups anyway.

I used a molex to PCIe for a 7970 for months. Didn't have any issues, and was using far more power.

it's fine if the adapter is brand new, if the adapter is old that means you can catch it on fire, the crimp can loose, sata power site can have residue and stuff. it is fine if it brands new

There are two main types of these cables. One uses crimped ends and one uses injection molded ends.

***Get the crimped ends version***

The version with the molded plugs is the one that can cause fire/data loss.
