this drop was just RTX 3070s, 3080s, and 3090s. However, Linus has made it clear that he’s partnered with AMD and MSI as well, meaning we can expect more Nvidia cards as well as Radeons. (and maybe some Ryzen processors, but don’t quote me on that last part) They were all sold at MSRP, but tariffs definitely hit hard for international customers (looking at you US) I think the tariff is 20 or 25% of the sale price.

My two cents correction, we will see AMD CPUs. The picture of ASUS boxes with AMD CPU on top was shown on WAn show.

lol, I found them to be somewhat difficult despite being an avid gamer. I think these were more “classical gaming” kind of questions but here’s a post by someone who managed to capture 13 of the 15 total questions.

what part was not understandable? type in web page / 30(what card you what so 70,80,90) and last two letters of the Konami code (for that just google it).

I'd more interested if it's at AIO "MSRPs" vs Nvidia's because they're already so ridiculously inflated this is a non-starter. Asus own Amazon store has all their cards listed at 220% original MSRPs, just out of stock.

Hm; isn't this kind of unfair for people that live in other areas of the world?

Making it all depend on a link in the video and then be a first come/first served system pretty much ensures that only people that are watching the videos as soon as they release would even have a chance. What of the people that are at work or asleep, be it because they work shifts or live somewhere else in the world?

 

Just feels kind of half-assed, to be honest...

That is partly because the original msrp was merely a joke not meant to be taken seriously. 

 

GPU prices go up,  not down.

there is absolutely no way that they could do something like this were everyone would be on 100% even ground. There will always be people at a disadvantage and people will always find something to complain about regardless of what they ended up doing.

Oh, I know it's entirely impossible to be fair to absolutely everyone, but this first come first served system seems just way too eschewed in favour of the American audience. I also understand that it's impossible to manually check every single quiz or order. 

 

Off the top of my head (but with no effin' clue as to how complicated that'd be to set up, honestly) I'd have the quiz, force the user to tie their inscription to a youtube account that is older than say, a month? (to prevent people botting it up to have a million entries) and then a lottery.

that would be locked down really hard because of gambling laws in multiple countries, it's why they have had such issues with ROG rig reboot and needing to exclude certain countries from it.

 

While there is no money put forward, like in a casino, it is a nightmare to make sure any competition is within regulations world wide.

That just ratchets up the red tape. For every countermeasure you take, the legal dept has to evaluate it.

No good deed goes unpunished. Every time you try to make something more "fair" it multiplies the work AND excludes more people.

The problem now is that even if more vendors wanted to come on board, when they come here to see the reception and see 16 pages of complaining, endless tweets and reddit posts about how unfair it was, and just the general salt in the air, they're not going to want to touch it with a 10 ft pole.

I admit I had not considered the potential legal ramifications of a lottery system but like I said, just something off the top of my head.

And yeah, I can see the negativity potentially killing any chance of something like this being done again...

1. o_O? English is not my native language, but I thought "eschewed" was the right spelling?
2. I fear that might just create other problems, plus they'd need to create at least one other batch for Asia, potentially more if they want to include Middle East all the way to Australia/NZ
