TrueNas installed, sees disks under disk tab but cant add pool

Hello and thanks for any help

I have repurposed an old HDD and small nvme SSD into an old case with a weird OEM HP motherboard. I have installed TrueNas. Under the disks tab I can see the two drives. However, when I try to create a pool for Plex neither drive is available. I have next to no skill in this area but I have done some baisc searches and in the shell I ran 'geom disk list' which also showed both disks. 

So I do I get these disks to the pool tab?

The HDD is connected to SATA and not USB, correct?

Fair enough. Can this be done from the shell or via a usb tool of some type? I mean I supposed I can even dismantle the build, attached them to my Win10 PC and use Storage/Disk Management to reformat?

geom or dd can do this.

Okay - what would the command line be? I just tried gpart destroy -F ada0 and got gpart: device busy

THe lazy way is to dd it so dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ada0 make sure its the correct disk number. Let it run for like 5 seconds

Did you have bitlocker enabled on these drives?

Hello both

 

No, I didnt have bitlocker but they have been repurposed and I think had partiion issues. I put them back in a windows PC and they looked a mess. I was going to use TrueNas for plex but my plex library is only a couple of TB so will run Plex from a pc and old imac (so two servers) and will get some other solution ordered so its not a bodge job from the start. Thanks for all your help.
