R5 3600 + MSI B450 Gaming Plus suddenly won't even POST after two weeks of working perfectly...

To begin, I've got: 

- R5 3600 @ Stock

- 16GB DDR4-3600 (running at the default speeds to make sure that's not the problem)

- MSI B450 Gaming Plus

- Asus TURBO GTX 960

 

Built it around two weeks ago and it was working fine until today. I've tried resetting the CMOS already, and also unplugging the Reset Switch connector as MSI B450 boards apparently have problems with that, but no dice. Anyone have ideas?

I updated it before building just to make sure seeing as the mobo is a gen. older. I assumed it was fine because it's been running like a dream the past two weeks.

When you switch it on what happens? Do you the fans spin and continue spinning until you cut the power? 

 

I believe your board also has DEBUG LED's, can you say which ones stay lit when you attempt to boot the system?

Just a screen of black nothingness. Fans are fine (albeit a little louder than usual when I power it on), and yeah once I cut power they stop normally.

 

As for the LEDs, I'll let you know ASAP. Didn't even know my mobo had them.

Uh well, none of them are on. Fans and all are still running too.

Actually, the CPU, VGA, then BOOT debug LEDs turn on sequentially when I press the power button, but they don't stay on.

Interesting, that would imply the system is actually booting. I know your CPU doesn't have onboard graphics, do you have a spare or know someone who could lend you their GPU to quickly swap in and confirm its not a dead GPU.

Monitor is on, tried a different power cable, Ryzen has no iGPU so I can't test that. I do have some information though, this started as I clicked restart in Windows and it wouldn't turn back on.

another pc to test with? it seems like your pc does boot but you wont get any signal. this can be still another problem but not as likely as monitor problem.

None at all. I'm going to try to get a clunker GPU just to test out if I have display or not, but that likely won't be for a few dats. Any other ideas?

 

I forgot to add, but this all started when I clicked restart in Windows instead of shut down. Ever since, this happened and not even the BIOS splash shows up.
