Building a new pc, waiting for 3080 how bad will a 1050 ti bottleneck a 5800x?

The 1050Ti will be fine at 1080p for a you, like said above.聽 It's more of turning off some of the post processing and effects than dropping resolution very low.

I have had all my parts for roughly a month now except for my 3080, I decided to build my pc with my friends 1050 ti and then once I can buy a 3080, I will buy it. How bad would it bottleneck for games?

The 1050 ti will definitely bottleneck a 5800x, but that doesn't really mean anything or matter, you should be fine playing most modern titles at low-medium settings and slightly older titles at medium-high, 1080p of course. There may be a few scenarios where the 1050 ti won't probably bottleneck the 5800x like in e-sports title like CS:GO, LoL and a few others, assuming you're using competitive settings.

it will bottleneck hard but bottlenecking is not bad. it just means that some part(s) cannot run at it's full potential.

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

For any esports title I also turn all settings to as reasonably low as possible.
