Buying my first gaming monitor. Is this backlight bleed/ IPS Glow too much? should I return it? (msi optix mag274qrf-qd)

Maxmaxhtkaputt

really would appreciate your opinion. I dont´t have any experience with monitors and I have to decide whether I will keep it or not. Brightness is 50%, in a dark room

I, uh... DO YOU ACTUALLY NOTICE IT WHILE WATCHING CONTENT / PLAYING GAMES?

(sorry for caps lol, but yeah - this is like my old Asus monitor kinda, I did *not* notice it while playing games, on the desktop etc...)

For reference this is pretty bad, but so are your camera settings... it's way oversaturated - put it on manual / pro mode, iso 400 or something...

same monitor, as far I can tell?? 'pro' settings on my phone... I don't see any backlight bleeding, neither in picture nor irl...

but yes, in the end, does it bother you? replacement monitor might be worse, keep that in mind.

When taking pictures of BLB make sure ur cameras ISO is tuned to result in the picture being as close to what u see urself. By default most cameras ISO is to high for taking photos of monitors BLB and IPS glow, resulting in blown out images that makes things look worse than they are.

The below review will give u an idea of what u should expect form the panel in regards to IPS glow (since htis is an IPS) and BLB.

need it to be dead center with the correct iso, from the angle and the lighting around the screen it's not even close to the worst we've seen on here, should be ok imho, but ultimately it's your call.
