Why does my RAM have a 10 NS higher latency than a reviewer with the same specs?

I was checking how fast my memory was and found out that its somehow 10 ns slower than a reviewer with the same CPU and memory, how is this possible?

What could be causing this and how do i fix it?

You will not notice the 10ns bump in latency unless you are doing very very memory intensive applications.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

Its still weird having a 10NS latency increasement over a reviewer which benchmarked the product 4 months ago.

There have been stability / performance improvements over those months.

10 NS is also quite a lot if you compare the specs, the only thing that is different is the motherboard.

1. AIDA version is different

2. AGESA version  in the BIOS is maybe different

3. If the mobo is different then all the obscure timings will be different (also how far you can go will change)

4. If the mobo is the same but BIOS is different, timings could also be different.

Could all of those cause a 10NS latency increasement?

How can i figure out what is the root cause for it?

just the motherboard alone could cause the difference, especially compared to a crosshair viii, though agesa version is more of a concern

Also there's run to run variance, +- 5% between runs is very normal and further compounded by background tasks (and that's why serious benchmarkers stick to old versions of Windows without all that crap implemented over the years)

How to figure out? Get a Crosshair 8 Hero, install v.2311 BIOS (hopefully it lets you do so) and run the test on a clean install of Windows 7. This may sound harsh but there are so many variables at play that there's no easier way to find the cause.

You don't, you move on with your life. There are too many factors in play and you will almost certainly never notice any difference.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

The primary timings may be the same but the subtimings may be quite different even if you use the same motherboard with differnt BIOS version. He may have Gear Down Mode disabled as well, etc...
