Do I need to upgrade my motherboard?

Hey just recently upgrade my PCs GPU to a 3080 and cpu to a 5800x.

I currently have a crosshair vii hero, I was wondering if that would effect the performance, or should I upgrade it to the crosshair viii hero?

Hi

 

No your current board is fine, assuming it has all the features you need. Only thing you miss out on is pcie 4.0 but not really a huge deal.
