16gb (2x8) 4000mhz or 32gb (2x16) 3600mhz?

At first was planning to get 32gb 3600mhz but then my friends said I should get 16gb and a faster ram, what should I get?

If your motherboard will support it, 3600MHz RAM with decent timings is fine, but we need to know the motherboard you are using.

2x16GB is better, Ryzen cannot go over 3800 anyway so yeah 32GB kit very likely is dual-rank also so 10% better anyhow.

Depends on motherboard, my ASRock B450 board refuses to run slot 1 and 3 anything higher than 3066MHz UwU

You can look up what is compatible from MSI's website, this way you will be less worried is if something should work or not.
