My RAM keeps shooting up to 90+%. Can anyone help?

SuperWeasel

If I have my system running for several hours, my RAM usage keeps shooting right up to 90+%. It tends to happen if I have 2-3 twitch streams running in Chrome as well as a video chat in a Discord server running at the same time.

I initial thought it was due to the lack of overall RAM in my system which was original 8GB where the system would crash altogether after a similar load stated above. After installing additional RAM so that I had 16GB, the system was no longer crashing but the RAM usage get into the 90+% range after a few hours.

My current system is:

Processor: I5 6600K (not overclocked)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB

PSU: Corsair RM850i (850W)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170 Gaming K3

Cooler: CoolerMaster Seidon 120v

SSHD: Seagate 2TB Hybrid Drive

OS: Windows 10 Home (Version 20H2)

Any advice will be very helpful. Thank you

That's very strange. I have 16 gb of ram and when I do something similar it doesn't usually jump to that much ram usage. Granted it does take up well over 8gb of ram something like 10 to 12 usually for me.

You might have a virus. What's your CPU usage?

CPU usage is pretty normal under these loads not really exceeding 12%
