Fan controller Q’s

So I just got a new fan controller and it says to hook the main PWM fan up to a certain port, what is that. I use a dual fan cpu cooler? Also I plugged the controller into a grey header on my Gigabyte gaming x x570 right above the cpu header, is this right?
