Yes I did use a USB stick to get a fresh windows instalation but it still does the same...

I'm very concerned about this, I don't want to buy another gpu...

Did you try using DDU and reinstalling the latest drivers?

And have task manager open to see what application is using the GPU when it spiked, sort by GPU usage

It's unlikely to be hardware fault, in my opinion

So since 2 days ago my gpu started to reach 100% usage for absolutely no reason...
I ignored the problem untill now but its getting annoying...

On overwatch, csgo and gtaV (the only games i play) this problem happens...

On overwatch I normally get 200 fps and when this happens I go all the way down to 20 fps or 14 (happens for 5/10 seconds and goes back to normal but it used to crash the whole pc, no bluescreen)....

I did not install anything new on my computer and I didnt update any graphics drivers.

I have my computer for 2 years and I never had this problem.

I saw that nvidia container was using 50% and I closed it but the games still used 100% of the gpu...
here is a printscreen of what I can see on the task manager

(after this happened I tried roll back the driver and it didnt solve the problem anyway)

i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz
MSI GTX 1660 Ti Ventus XS OC
32gb RAM tridentZ rgb 3200mhz

Gigabyte z390 gaming x

Nox vx650w

maybe you should try DDU and reinstalling the latest driver from nvidia's site

Display driver uninstaller

Did you re-install windows from a USB stick or the built in factory reset?

Use a USB method, the factory reset sucks

Actually it didn't work, it fixed the problem for some time and it happened again...

then it's probably something in your system that's breaking it

if a fresh installed windows didnt help, then start by experimenting game by game, or software by software

application/software issue. i can almost bet it's nvida application for your GPU that is causing the problem. whatever configuration that is clashing with how other games are running their video encoder etc...

you might have to sit down and start messing with the nvidia and your gaming application setting to figure out what is clashing between the two. usually problems like this takes a while to figure out, so i'll let you do that on your free time.

I did try that too but nothing helped at all......

I really can't afford buying another gpu, this one is 2 years old and this never happened...

I FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION...

So I turned off my external rgb fans and the problem got fixed...

Probably my psu sucks and can't handle many things at the same time, it's enough wats but not enough amperage (that's what someone told me), turning off the fans fixed the problem

Hey, I am facing the exact same Issue. I only have a cooler and the stock fans in the front of the case. Do you know how I can solve this? I can't find this problem anywhere else. Thanks.
