Concerned About Windows When Swapping Motherboard

Damon Polo
Go to solution Solved by SupaKomputa,

Those chipset use the same driver. So there's won't be any problem.

Even if it does, you can just reinstall.

I am planning on swapping out my motherboard from an MSI B350 Tomohawk to a ASUS Strix B450-F due to the limited options the MSI board gives me in regards to future upgrades, hardware, and of course RGB. I've done a bit of research and have gotten varying answers about whether my Windows license will transfer over to the new motherboard and I figured I'd come here for help. If anyone can help explain the process that would be greatly appreciated

if you want to be sure it will, just make sure it is tied to your Microsoft account, and it will transfer over.

The question is if you have an OEM license or not. I know an OEM license will not transfer (or at least mine didn't).

Cheers
