My monitor keeps flickering...any idea what the issue could be?

Actual_Criminal

I have a Samsung Odyssey G5 (upgraded G5 34' model not the 32' one.) monitor that I have only had for around 1 month.

Every so often, (once a day) the monitor will start to flicker with bars of fuzzy stuff like on older TV's with no aerial signal connection and it is just all fuzzy. (Sorta, but not as extreme.)

Occurrs randomly, regardless of underload or not. I usually have to restart my PC and the issue goes.

The monitor has HDR on, 165Hz, curved VA Panel and is operating on 1.4a Display Port cable. Full PC specs in signature and I also use a different second monitor but get no issues on it.

-I have updated and reinstalled drivers.

-I have tried all the Display Port sockets on my GPU.

Any ideas what the issue(s) could be?

Bad cable?

I thought it might be the cable, but the cable was quite expensive and Display Port 1.4a. Also, the issue resolves when I restart my PC (so I don't touch the cable.)

Try bringing it down to 120hz for testing.  Then run a gray-gray test.  Leave it at 120 hz after the test until it does it again.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

It still can be a bad cable. I have an old Gsync 1440p 165Hz AOC Ag271Qg monitor and 3 expensive DP cables (20eur piece).

1.5m cable works perfectly

2m (old) cable, works perfectly up to 120Hz then the monitors starts to go black or lose signal or flicker randomly

3m cable (same as 1st) very occasionally the monitor goes black for a second above 120Hz. Using this cable right now.
