Corsair RM850x White, does it have capacitors in the cables?

praescepter

Hi,

I have a question, maybe someone knows the answer  and can help me.

Does the White RM850x, this one : https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/Power-Supply-Units-Advanced/RMx-Series-White/p/CP-9020188-NA

have in cable capacitors?

Looking at the pictures, where the whole cable pack can be seen, or just the EPS cable, they are not bulky at all. Cable ends look fairly clean and regular. To me it seems that they dont have capacitors.

Same PSU, just in black definitely have huge bulky cables at the end, and has capacitors in them.

Just like my PSU, the EVGA G3. Huge bulky and totally unflexible cables, that i want to replace with a 750-850 Corsair PSU. Want to buy the 850 White one, from a local distributor, but i am confused by the pictures on the corsair website. Also checked Unboxing videos on YT and they shows the same, smaller cables, that does not seem to have capacitors at the end.

So, are there capacitors on those cables, like on the normal, black version RMx, or not? Or they have the same capacitors, but maybe they are done in a bit cleaner, neater way?

All the written reviews out there are about the black RMx versions, or the older White versions, with the individually sleeved cables. Those also had capacitors, just not at the ends, but the right at the middle of the cables.

So the white cables are simply just manufactured in a bit neater/cleaner way? Because the white cables on the RMx power supplies are definitely nicer on those ends.

Or are the capacitors on the middle part of the cables, under the sleaving, on the eps/pci-e/24 pin cables?

Thx, for clearing that up.

Bit more ripple then, but easier cable management.

The difference is tiny, it's like having 10mV ripple vs 20mV ripple. You wouldn't have any problems with either. It's just that 10mV looks more impressive in reviews.

Interesting, so they didn't use the class 4 Corsair Pro cables since they are sleeved, surprised on that. 🤔

Since the caps are in the middle of the cables.

Oh well, learn something new everyday.

The cables with the newer white RMx are like the CX-F cables.  White ribbon SATA/PATA and white sleeved 24-pin, EPS and PCIe.
