Is PCIE 6+2 to ATX 12v 8 pin adapter safe to use.

You only need a single 8 pin. You will never draw enough load on normal/conventional cooling solutions to need any more than that. Also, its never a good idea to adapt from one power type to another. If you truly want to use both 8 pin EPS, then buy a new PSU that properly supports dual 8 pin EPS. 

Hey Guys! 

 

I have a question regarding the converter from PCIE 6+2 to 8 Pin ATX

 

I have a Power supply Thermal Take DPSG 750W Gold Certified, Which i have been using for like past 3 years. Now i am Planning to Upgrade my system to Ryzen 5900x and I want to buy a good X570 Mobo. The issue is that all the new mobos have 2x 8 pin ATX Socket or ( 4 + 8) pin ATX Socket. My PSU have only one (4+4) ATX/EPS Cable. 

 

The thing is i have 4 ( 6+2 ) pin PCIE Cable in my PSU and Plan to upgrade my Card to 3070 or 3080, which will take my 2 (6+2) PCIE. 

 

Now the Question is that can i convert my 6+2 PCIE to ATX 12v (8Pin), I found some adapters on the amazon. But Is it safe to do that ?

Thank you for the reply. Then it solves my problem, buy why there is another one, and what type of cooling solution people use so they need that other one? Just asking out of curiosity

You only need the extra power if you're doing LN2 overclocking or exotic/extreme OC that can push beyond the 320w a single 8 pin is rated for.
